Oʻahu roots, world-class training
Music has been the backdrop of Billy's life since the very beginning. Literally.
Billy Sage 5 is a versatile entertainment professional born and raised on Oʻahu, with deep connections to both Honolulu and New York City. His journey into entertainment began at LaGuardia High School for the Performing Arts, where he discovered his passion for the stage. Initially focused on drama, he branched into music during his junior and senior years, exploring singing and playing instruments.
The studio
Born to the sound of KPOI 98 Rock
Billy's parents, Jan Sage and Bill Sage the 4th, met while working at Hawaiʻi radio stations. Billy was born to the sound of high-energy '80s rock in the legendary KPOI 98 Rock studios and grew up surrounded by top hits and radio legends.
The school
LaGuardia High School for the Performing Arts
The renowned “Fame School” in New York City is where the stage took hold. Drama first, then music in the junior and senior years: singing, and learning the instruments that now make up the one-man band.
The legacy
Broadcast excellence in the family
Both parents were renowned vocal talents and copywriters. His father won a Nā Hōkū Hanohano Award for his comedy album; his mother earned a National Addy Award for her radio advertising work. That standard runs through everything Billy does today.
A career built on versatility
One point of contact who adapts to whatever the moment requires.
Billy doesn't play one role. He covers live music, DJ, hosting, and voiceover with genuine professionalism in each, which means planners, venues, and private clients get more flexibility and simpler logistics.
